Police search for car thieves

BOGOR (JP): Bogor Police detectives are on the lookout for eight men in connection with the armed robbery of three vans and electronic equipment from a house in the Bubulak Tarik Kolot village of Ciluer, Bogor Utara district, early Sunday morning.

The owner of the house, Hari Darmansyah, 44, told reporters that the robbers broke through the front door of his house at 3:30 a.m.

"They proceeded to bang on my bedroom door, got me and my wife up, got my in-laws and my child up, tied and gagged us and threw us in a room together," Hari told reporters.

The robbers made away with Hari's red Suzuki Esteem van, registration number F 1820 AN, a blue Suzuki Escudo van, registration number F 1661 A and a Toyota Kijang van, registration number A 101 B.

They also took four cellphones, a 14-inch TV set, a sound system and a telephone answering machine from the house.

"Our bank books are gone, as well as a handbag containing our identification cards and Rp 600,000 in cash," Hari said. (21/ylt)
