Police report two deaths

JAKARTA (JP): City Police reported two deaths on Thursday and Friday, with the latter case appearing to be murder.

A police clerk, Rojak, identified Friday's victim as 35-year- old Baharudin from Medan, North Sumatra, a driver of the local Swa Sembada taxi group.

"Baharudin was found dead at 10 a.m. on Friday on the football field at the Bebek market in Marunda, Cilincing, in North Jakarta. He had wounds on his head," Rojak said.

Quoting the North Jakarta Police report, Rojak said the wounds were most likely caused by a blunt object.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Yaman bin Kumpul died after being struck by lightning while playing football in the Kelapa Dua village of Pedurenan, subdistrict of Bantar Gebang, Bekasi, on Thursday afternoon.

"The man suffered severe burns on his chest and died. He was playing football with his two friends when the incident occurred." (ylt)
