Police raid marijuana fields

LAHAT, South Sumatra: Lahat Police conducted a raid on a
marijuana plantation on the slopes of Mount Dempo in the regency.

"The raid was conducted in line with the recent finding of six
marijuana plants grown by a villager identified as Yah, 37, near
Pagaralam in the regency," Adj. Sr. Comr. Budi Setiadi, chief of
Lahat Police Precinct, said here on Saturday.

He said that according to information gained from several
sources, many villagers grew the plants in the regency,
especially on the mountainside.

He said the suspect was still at large. --Antara
