Police quiz child over fatal shooting

JAKARTA: A child and a resident of Jl. Langgar in Kramatjati, East Jakarta, are currently being interrogated at the Kramatjati Police subprecinct as suspects over the fatal shooting of Panji Asmara, nine.

"We will bring the case to the juvenile court since one of the suspects is a child," said Kramatjati Police chief Comr. Dedy Tetra.

Police have named Deris, seven, the one who pulled the trigger of the 4.5 millimeter gas operated pistol and Fauzi, 23, the gun owner as suspects.

With a shot fired at his temple and the bullet penetrating his brain, Panji died eight hours after being admitted in a critical condition to the Christian University of Indonesia Hospital in Cawang, East Jakarta. --JP
