Police plane fails to take off

JAKARTA: An official police plane failed to take off due to a flat tire at Pondok Cabe airport in South Jakarta on Monday.

The Disjet 400XP plane was preparing to take off for a routine exercise when one of its rear tires burst as it was preparing to take off. The pilot was able to stop the plane from skidding off the runway.

There were no injuries in the accident.

"It is not true that the plane crashed and that passengers were killed. It had not even taken off," said National Police public relations officer Brig. Gen. Soenarko. --Antara
