Police officer found dead in hotel
JAKARTA: A West Java senior police officer was found dead on Thursday in Hotel Melawai II in South Jakarta, where he had stayed with an unidentified young woman.
Sr. Comr. Harta Wijaya, who was the planning assistant to the West Java police chief, was found dead in room No. 500 at the hotel.
The death was reported by the unidentified woman to the receptionist at the hotel.
National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Saleh Saaf said that Harta died of a heart attack, and denied that Harta was with the young woman. Saleh failed to provide details of his statement.
Harta was in Jakarta to attend a two-day seminar organized by the Institute of State Administration.--JP
