Police nab weed dealer red-handed

BEKASI: The police apprehended a suspected marijuana dealer on Saturday while trying to sell the illegal drug to plainclothes detectives in Kampung Utan, Wanasari village, Cibitung district.

Bekasi Police head of narcotics Comr. Rasino said on Sunday that the police confiscated 29 packets of marijuana from the suspect, Iwan Wahyudin, 34.

The arrest was made based on public information, said Rasino.

Police said the suspect offered the undercover detective one packet of dried marijuana leaves for Rp 10,000 (US$1.18), doubling the price at which he bought the drug from his dealer.

"We expect more tip-offs from the public on the hangouts or meeting points of drug traffickers," Rasino said. -- Antara
