Police, ministry team up in terror case

JAKARTA: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced late on Saturday it would work with police to help them confirm the death of a wanted Indonesian terrorist in the Philippines.

Dulmatin reportedly died with another alleged Indonesian terror suspect, Ali Abdul Rahiman, during a recent government air strike on an area in the country's Mindanao province.

Ministry spokesman Yuri Thamrin said on Saturday the Philippines government had yet to officially confirm the death of Dulmatin, the most-wanted terror suspect in the region.

Dulmatin is believed to have played an important role in the Bali bombing in October 2002 that killed over 200 people, mostly foreign tourists. -- Antara
