Police ignore Rp 5 fine
MEDAN, North Sumatra: A local resident is waiting for the police to pay Rp 5 (0.0007 U.S. cent) he was awarded by the Medan District Court for illegally impounding his vehicle, his lawyer Rahmadaniel Daulay said on Monday.
Rahmadaniel said his client Nur Asli, owner of a public transportation company in Deli Serdang regency, insisted on being paid the full amount, Antara reported.
The lawyer added that he had written to the police demanding a response and an explanation for the delay in payment.
The court on Dec. 19 found the National Police chief, the chief of the North Sumatra Police and the chief of Medan Police guilty of confiscating Nur's car without legal grounds. (01)
