Police generals get new posts
JAKARTA (JP): National Police chief Lt. Gen. Rusdihardjo installed on Friday five major generals and three brigadier generals in their new posts at National Police Headquarters.
"I hope the repositioning of the officers in their new posts will help the police force in the coming days," Rusdihardjo said in his speech during the installation ceremony here.
Among the eight police generals involved in the reshuffle was former North Sumatra Police chief Brig. Gen. Sutiyono, 54, who was appointed the National Police chief's assistant for operational affairs.
Sutiyono replaces Maj. Gen. Bimantoro, who has been promoted to National Police deputy chief.
A recent graduate of the National Defense Institute, Col. Dadang Garnida, 51, was installed as National Police spokesman and promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
Brig. Gen. Erald Dotulong, 51, who served as National Police spokesman for less than six months, was installed as chief of police in his home province of North Sulawesi earlier this week.
The post of secretary to the National Central Bureau of Interpol was officially filled by Brig. Gen. James Daniel Sitorus, 54, who replaced Brig. Gen. Wayan Ardjana, 54. Wayan has been promoted to Bali Police chief.
James is a former National Police chief of detectives.
East Java Police chief Maj. Gen. Moch. Dayat, 54, who retired, was replaced by National Police chief of detectives Maj. Gen. Da'i Bachtiar, 50.
West Java Police chief Maj. Gen. Chaeruddin Ismail, 53, officially took over Da'i's post on Friday.
Chaeruddin's former post will be filled by the current National Police chief's assistant for planning affairs, Maj. Gen. Adang Daradjatun, 51.
Adang has been replaced by Brig. Gen. Pandji Atmasudirdja, the former South Sumatra Police chief. (ylt)
