Police foil timber theft
SAMARINDA, East Kalimantan: Police rangers have seized 263 logs in Melak in the Kutai hinterland believed to have been felled illegally.
The head of the Forestry Office of the Mahakam Ulu Regency Office, Rudjito, said he believed that the loggers may have felled much more than the actual amount seized.
He said police intercepted the boat which was towing the logs. Several people on the vessel are now being questioned. (emb)
