Police find illegal firearms in Riau

BATAM, Riau: East Riau Police apprehended five owners of firearms and seized nine weapons and 26 bullets in Tanjung Pinang, Antara reported on Thursday.

"The nine assembled guns and their bullets probably came from Sambas in West Kalimantan," East Riau Police chief Lt. Col. Surya Dislan said.

The alleged gun owners claimed to be plantation workers.

The seized bullets were of 5.5 and 38 caliber types as well as 35.56 caliber blank bullets. (edt)
