Police complete Polo's dossier
JAKARTA (JP): Unlike a previous drug case involving comedian Sudharmaji, alias Doyok, city police headquarters quickly completed the investigation into comedian Barata Nugroho, who is better known as Polo.
City police spokesman Supt. Muhammad Nur H. Usman said on Saturday police investigators only required two days to complete the dossier on Polo, who was arrested at a hotel in East Jakarta on Thursday afternoon.
"The drug suspect (Polo) has been very cooperative during the investigation process.
"He always gave clear answers to the police interrogators," he said at his office.
"The dossier will hopefully be handed over to the East Jakarta Prosecutor's Office on Monday," he said.
Polo, who often performs on the Srimulat comedy show on television, signed the 20-page dossier on Saturday.
Compared to the case involving Doyok, who often performed with Polo in the Srimulat comedy show, the investigation into Polo has gone remarkably quick. It took the police 35 days to complete Doyok's dossier, which was submitted to the Tangerang Prosecutor's Office on Thursday, the same day Polo was arrested.
Doyok is now being held at the office's detention house.
Police said Doyok at first refused to sign his dossier, and gave tangled answers to investigators.
Polo was arrested at a hotel on Jl. Matraman Raya in East Jakarta on Thursday for possession of 0.5 grams of shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine). Along with the shabu-shabu, the police also seized drug paraphernalia.
Polo admitted on Friday he was carrying the drugs when he was arrested. (asa)
