Police complete Gunawan's dossiers

JAKARTA: The police have completed dossiers on four suspects involved in the forgery of identity cards for murder defendant Gunawan Santosa.

The dossiers were submitted to the Jakarta Prosecutors' Office later in the day, city police detective chief Sr. Comr. Mathius Salempang said on Tuesday.

The suspects are Gunawan, his mother Mulyati Santosa, his brother Caca and Andre Basuki.

Besides facing legal charges related to the fake ID he used while on the run after escaping Kuningan Penitentiary in West Java where he was serving a sentence for fraud, Gunawan is being tried for the murder of his former father-in-law Boedyharto Angsana in 2003.

His latest alleged crime was illegal possession of a .32 Beretta gun used in his foiled escape last month. --JP
