Police asked to arrest subdistrict head

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Dozens of community leaders in Bandar
Gugung subdistrict, Deli Serdang regency, demanded on Friday that
local police arrest the head of the subdistrict Zs, for graft.

They alleged that the subdistrict head had manipulated data on
refugees from Aceh and embezzled millions of rupiah from the
state.

"The suspect proposed to the government that 46 refugees from
Aceh should receive financial aid and his office received it, but
actually, there were no refugees in our subdistrict," said Tape
Saragih, the spokesman of the community leaders. -- Antara
