Police arrest STNK scalpers

JAKARTA: Jakarta Police arrested on Friday 43 scalpers, including one woman, who offered to secure police registration documents (STNKs) for vehicle owners at the Jakarta Police Headquarters.

The presence of the scalpers, police said, has created uneasiness among vehicle owners and tarnished the image of the police.

Every year, car and motorcycle owners here renew their STNKs and pay vehicle tax at the inter-departmental office located inside the Jakarta Police Headquarters.

Police also arrested 37 scalpers on Oct. 25, including 12 women, who offered to help secure driving licenses. --Antara
