Police arrest drug dealer

JAKARTA: A suspected dealer of shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine) and ecstasy was arrested in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, by the Jagakarsa police on Monday afternoon.

Police also seized 30.5 grams of shabu-shabu and 118 ecstasy pills from the suspect, identified as Jabaruddin.

Jabaruddin had reportedly told police that he sold the drugs to small-time dealers and addicts.

He also told the police that he had been dealing drugs for only a month and that he got his supplies from a person named A'an.

"But I don't get any commission from A'an, I only distribute the stuff to drug users recommended by A'an, who promised to give me Rp 15 million during the Ramadhan fasting month," Jabaruddin told police investigators as quoted by Jagakarsa drug squad chief Adj. First Insp. Bambang Is.

The local police are still trying to locate A'an's whereabouts. --JP
