Point Square to be reviewed
JAKARTA: The Jakarta Spatial Planning Agency will reorganize the use of 1,500 square meters of land that now serves as Point Square shopping mall in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, Tempointeraktif.com reported on Wednesday.
The agency's director, Nurfakih Wirawan, said that the site was actually designated as a green area rather than for commercial use.
"Besides that, a half hectare of land nearby that is supposed to be used for the ring road now serves to provide access to the parking lot," he said.
In the city's masterplan, the land occupied by Point Square is supposed to serve as a park.
However, in 2003, the developer paid Rp 305 million in compensation in return for which it received building and land use permits. -- JP
