Poetry reading at TIM

JAKARTA: Poets from three generations will appear at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) Arts Center on Jl. Cikini Raya, Central Jakarta, to read some of Indonesia's most renowned literary masterpieces on Saturday evening.

The seniors are Sapardi Djoko Damono, Toety Heraty and Leon Agusta, while those who are of the second generation are Afrizal Maina, F.Rahardi and Isbedi Stiawan.

Toto S. Radik, Dorothea Rosa Herliany and Helvie Tiana Rosa will represent the younger poets.

Earlier on Saturday, rector of the Syarif Hidayatullah State Institute of Islamic Studies, Azyumardi Azra, will present a cultural speech on the future of Indonesian art and culture.

The event is part of the November Festival, which is being held in celebration of the 33th anniversary of TIM. --JP
