POBSI announces 2004 tournaments

JAKARTA: The Billiard Association of Indonesia (POBSI) released its schedule for the 2004 season, which will include one international championship and six national events.

The 2004 season kicked off in March with the opening round of the A Mild Billiard Cup in Makassar, South Sulawesi. The tournament will encompass seven rounds in seven different cities.

Other events are the four-round College Billiard League, the National Club Championship, the Media, Celebrity and Masters Billiard Tournaments and the International Bali Open.

"We encourage every billiard player in the country to maximize the opportunity to develop their play," POBSI chairman Putera Astaman said here on Wednesday.

Putera said the Bali tournament, which is scheduled for June 24 to June 27 in Denpasar, would offer a total of Rp 100 million (US$12,000) in cash prizes. -- JP
