Plywood biggest forex source

PALANGKARAYA, Central Kalimantan: Plywood exports from Central Kalimantan have contributed the most in terms of provincial foreign exchange revenues compared to other commodities, a senior government official said on Thursday.

Hariyanto Halim, head of trade and industry at the Central Kalimantan administration, said the province had exported 117,554 cubic meters of plywood between January and July this year.

Plywood exports had contributed revenues of US$41.601 million, or 49.8 percent of total provincial forex revenues over the same period, said Haryanto.

Palm oil trailed behind plywood exports at $19.24 million, or 23.03 percent of the provincial total. -- Antara
