Pluit's Wal-Mart opens

JAKARTA (JP): The country's second Wal-Mart Supercenter will open today in Megamall Pluit, North Jakarta.

The supercenter is owned by PT Multipolar Perkasa, a subsidiary of the Lippo Group, which holds a 100 percent franchise agreement with the United States-based Wal-Mart Stores.

Multipolar opened its first Wal-Mart Supercenter last year in Karawaci's Lippo Supermall in Tangerang.

Pluit's Wal-Mart was larger than Karawaci's because it occupied 17,018 square meters over four floors at the new Megamall shopping and entertainment complex, the company stated yesterday.

The Wal-Mart at Karawaci occupies three floors and 16,486 square metres of floor space. (04)
