Plot of land in an Islamic Village

Since 1973 many Moslems have bought and fully paid for plots of land offered by the Islamic Village Foundation in Karawaci, Tangerang.

Many among them accepted the foundation's offer because it was led by H. Yunan Helmy Nasution.

Until now, 1997, my brother and others have not yet been allocated their land or, consequently, given the pertaining land documents.

They have frequently made inquiries, but the foundation has remained vague on the matter.

It is estimated that some 200 buyers are experiencing the same problem as my brother.

Initially my brother had confidence in the good intention of the sellers. It was a beautiful prospect to live in an area wholly inhabited by fellow Moslems.

In December 1996 there was a media report that the land of the Islamic Village Foundation would be sold at a high price to the public by PT Mustika Hadiasri and PT Satya Graha Tara.

It is saddening that the land owners have been asked by foundation employees to pay a very high additional cost for infrastructure if they wish to keep their land. Those who do not want to pay the extra money are compelled to sell it to the Islamic Village Foundation at low price.
