PLN's service

Recently I had a horrible experience with the 'service' provided by state-owned electricity company (PLN). On April 1, I reported a short circuit to PLN, and they sent a technician who had no uniform and arrived on foot without any spare parts.

After I had bought the spare parts myself, he charged me Rp 75,000 for 10 minutes work. When I asked for a receipt he refused and despite my repeated calls to PLN, nobody could provide me with information about an official repair fee, nor the phone number of a supervisor.

I was finally given the number of a private firm, a contractor doing repair work for PLN. But when I called this company, I was told that they hadn't sent anyone to my home. Besides, the fee should have been about Rp 25,000, one third of the amount asked by the mysterious repairman.

The above incident suggests the prevalence of some serious irregularities in the concerned department and poor supervision. I would appreciate PLN's accountability on this matter.
