PLN to stage volleyball c'ship

JAKARTA (JP): State-owned electricity company PT PLN is to
stage an inter-club national volleyball championship from Nov. 25
to Dec. 2 to commemorate the 52nd National Electricity Day.

The organizers said that about 40 teams -- including ones from
Bimantara, JVC, Maluku, Bank DKI, Bank BNI, Bank BRI and PLN --
are expected to compete in the event, which will be staged at the
Pertamina Volleyball hall in Simpruk, South Jakarta.

The semifinals and final will take place at the Senayan Indoor
Stadium.

The men's and women's winners will receive Rp 10 million
(US$2,975), the runners-up will get Rp 7.5 million and the
third-placed teams Rp 5 million. (yan)
