Please forgive them, oh God

Our Lord,

please forgive the persons

who have slain their own brethren

for they were not aware

who had provoked them

and provided them with the weapons

Our Lord,

also please forgive the others

who have committed arson

burning houses where we lived

because they were not alert

someone had supplied them with a flame

Our Lord,

we beg you to also grant forgiveness

to those who have looted and robbed

people of their belongings and chastity

because they had done this unintentionally

or they were carried away by the crowd

or had been instigated again

by power hungry villains

Our Lord,

please forgive the poorest members

of our society

and all commoners

who have lived in harmony

but who revolted abruptly

to show their frustration

after suffering long poverty

and destitution

On behalf of justice

which belongs to You

they pray for a forgiveness

from You
