PKB to simulate upcoming election

JAKARTA: The Jakarta chapter of the People's Awakening Party
(PKB) will conduct a simulation of a direct election to decide on
Jakarta's governor in 56 locations across the five mayoralties
here.

The party has prepared 18,000 ballots, consisting of seven
pairs of candidates running for governor and deputy governor, for
the simulation, called the "freedom vote".

The seven pairs are Sutiyoso and Fauzi Bowo, Tarmidi Suhardjo
and Abdillah Toha, Edy Waluyo and Ahmad Suaidy, Ahmad Heryawan
and Igo Ilham, Marzuki Usman and Halim Asyhari, Mahfudz Djaelani
and Doly Diapari Siregar, and Endang Darmawan and Dadang Hamdani.

Jakartans are welcome to join the simulation and there is no
need to register ahead of time.

Deputy chairman Saefudin said the simulation was meant to see
if Jakartans were ready for a direct election or not. -- JP
