Pickpockets plague train passengers

JAKARTA: Passengers of the commuter trains on the Kota-Rangkas Bitung route have complained about an increase in the number of pickpockets on the trains.

One victim, Marni, 20, said on Thursday pickpockets stole her wallet, which she kept in her purse. She said she had Rp 65,000 in the wallet.

"They slashed my purse," Marni said, adding that she did not report the incident to security officers because she thought it was useless.

"What's the use of reporting the case. I won't get my money back," she said.

She said two of her friends, Wati and Tuti, had also lots their wallets on the same train. -- Antara
