Photo exhibit on world sailing
JAKARTA (JP): An exhibition on a collection of photographs about a 10-month sailing trip across four oceans and four continents opens at Antara building on Wednesday.
A Letter from the Ocean, which runs to Jan. 24, displays 150 photos by Antara photographer Mosista Pambudi taken during a trip on the Indonesian Navy's Arung Samudra training sailing ship.
The journey on the 35-meter-long vessel took him from Jakarta to Palma de Mallorca, Spain, and then from Casablanca, Morocco, to Fukuoka, Japan, and then back to Indonesia.
The vessel, with a 16-member crew, left Tanjung Priok port, Jakarta, on April 14, 1996, under the command of Major Darwanto.
The exhibition will be opened on Wednesday by the Indonesian Navy chief Adm. Indroko Sastrowiryo and the Director of Antara M. Sobari and will be open to the public the day after. (04)
