Philately expo to open

BANDUNG, West Java: Vice President Try Sutrisno will open a
ten-day international philately exhibition tomorrow at the PT Pos
Indonesia building.

A total of 431 young stamp collectors from 45 countries will
take part in the event. Over 1,000 frames holding one million
stamps from 250 countries have been prepared for the exhibition,
according to organizer HMA Sampurna.

Sampurna said some of the stamps were collector's items and
worth as much as Rp 100 million (US$42,444) each.

Related activities, such as seminars for young stamp
collectors, will also be held. (17/swe)
