PGN clarifies

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) tbk (PGN) wishes to clarify the comments made by the General Manager of the Strategic Business Unit II, East Java Region, appearing in the article on Aug. 9 entitled PLN to share its nature gas allocation: Minister.

The article includes the following paragraph: "PGN has secured a short-term contract with Kodeco to get another 30 mmscfd, but the gas producer had only been able to provide 13 mmscfd, said Trijono."

Please note that the above paragraph could cause misinformation for the public and damage our suppliers' reputation, as the above paragraph did not mention that under the Short-Term Gas Sales Agreement, "the seller (in this regard, Kodeco) anticipates that it will be able to deliver up to three (3) BBTU per day during the supply period".

Kodeco, has completely fulfilled all of its commitments and obligations for gas supply and in full cooperation with the government directives. The company has successfully helped alleviate the shortage of natural gas in East Java.

Consequently, PGN would be most appreciative if Th Jakarta Post would straighten the possible mistaken impression that may have been created by the paragraph.

Thank you for your urgent attention and we respectfully hope that The Post will take immediate steps to clarify this matter.

WIDYATMIKO BAPANG Corporate Secretary PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) tbk. Jakarta
