Pet vaccination free of charge
JAKARTA (JP): Dogs, cats, monkeys and other pets are welcome to receive free rabies vaccine shots from the city's animal husbandry agency and its mayoralty offices.
The free services, provided from Sept. 1 to Nov. 30, are also available at the Veterinary Hospital on Jl. Harsono RM 28 in Ragunan, Pasar Minggu; the Animal Health Station at Pondok Ranggon, Jl. Kramat Bacang in East Jakarta and other authorized locations.
A press release issued yesterday from the animal husbandry agency on Jl. Gunung Sahari 11 in Central Jakarta said the free vaccinations are part of a national effort to ensure that Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Sumatra and Java are free of rabies by the year 2000.
The agency urged the public to inform the agency's mayoralty offices of stray animals so they could also be provided with vaccinations. (anr)
