Perumnas to build 300 houses
JAKARTA (JP): The Ministry of Transmigration and the state- owned developer Perum Perumnas signed an agreement yesterday to construct 300 houses for the ministry's employees.
Perumnas was represented by its marketing director, Budi Prabowo and the ministry by the chairman of its civil servants corps, Husein Dadi Kurnia.
Perumnas will build 170 houses measuring 36 sq.m, and another 130 houses measuring 21 sq.m in Parung Panjang, Tangerang, 40 kilometers southwest of the capital.
The 36 sq.m and 21 sq.m houses will be built on 60 sq.m and 84 sq.m plots respectively.
The houses should be ready by the end of next month, Antara said.
The secretary-general of the Ministry of Transmigration, Ign. Hardoyo, who witnessed the signing, said in his address that Perumnas' offer to build the houses was good news.
"In 1994 we signed a deal with the Jakarta branch of the Employees Cooperative for 1,500 houses to be constructed for employees. The agreement has not yet been realized although the employees made a down payment of Rp 2.1 billion," Hardoyo said.
PT Mutiaranusa Medikapratama, the developer assigned by Puskopkar, failed to build a single house and the development permit had now expired, he said.
The ministry plans to cooperate with other developers to build houses in Gunung Sindur, Bogor, for its employees. (sur)
