Pertina beckons Bahari brothers

JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian amateur boxing association (Pertina) has taken one step closer to settling its rift with the Bahari brothers, Pino and Nemo.

The association has offered the leading boxers places in the national team line-up for the Southeast Asian Games in December.

Pino and Nemo, products of their father Daniel's rigorous boxing training, will be called to join the Indonesian team for the 17th SEA Games in Chiang Mai, Thailand, if they agree to train with their teammates in the capital, instead of in their hometown of Denpasar.

"We have asked them to join the training session here by the end of this month," the association's secretary-general Didiet Soedijoto said on Wednesday. "If they fail to show up, we will axe them," he warned. (amd)
