Perkasa exports coal crusher

JAKARTA (JP): PT Perkasa Heavyndo Engineer, a subsidiary of the Texmaco Group, exported coal crushers to the Philippines yesterday for use at a power generation plant in Quezon.

Perkasa's chairman M. Sinivasan, who launched the export from the company's industrial engineering complex in Subang, West Java, said the equipment was manufactured based on a design by Fosterwheeler of the United States.

"This once again proves our capability in mastering high technology in heavy engineering," Sinivasan told guests at the ceremony, including West Java Governor H.R. Nuriana.

Sinivasan said the complex manufactured a wide range of heavy equipment for domestic and foreign buyers, including turbine components for the Muara Tawer power project built by ABB in West Java, heat exchangers for ASEE in Singapore, vessels for ammonia plants for Bethlehem/Krupp Ltd., palm oil tanks for PT Rekayasa in Riau and cement plant equipment for Svedala in Malaysia.

Earlier yesterday, State Minister of Research and Technology Rahadi Ramelan also visited the Subang complex.
