Perhapi's annual meeting
JAKARTA (JP): The Association of Indonesian Mining Professionals (Perhapi) is to hold a its seventh annual meeting on Thursday and Friday to discuss the current state of the industry.
The association said in a release on Monday that the meeting would be held at the headquarters of publicly listed general mining company PT Aneka Tambang.
The meeting, titled The Role of the Mining Industry to Overcome the National Monetary Crisis, will discuss various mining issues, including illegal mining, community development and native title claims.
Speakers will include economists Mubyarto and Umar Juoro and Director General of Mining at the Ministry of Mines and Energy Rozik Boedioro Soetjipto.
Perhapi currently has 1,200 members. (jsk)
