Perception of art

After reading the article Fashion Photographer paints Images of Urban Glamor (The Jakarta Post, Oct. 27, 1994) by Amir Sidharta, I can conclude that The Jakarta Post's perception of art is declining.

The painter Firman Ichsan's works reflect shear snobbism. What then is the significance of writing an article about his painting exhibition? I think there are many more capable young painters, but they are unknown and do not have sponsors, community support or an important official as an friend. Moreover, it seems to me that your reporter barely has any perception of art.
