Pension age

From Suara Karya

The Minister of Administrative Reforms has denied that the government intends to set the pension age earlier for civil servants of the first and second categories. According to the minister, Government Regulation No. 32/1979 stipulates that the pension age limit is 56 years. This limit can even be prolonged until 70 years depending on where the civil servant is posted.

I hail Minister Silalahi's statement that we must be vigilant over the issue which can create unrest among civil servants of the lower rank. It is my hope that the bureaucratic leaders will be prudent enough to draft a regulation which concerns civil servants of the lower rank.
