Pelti to file Fed Cup complaint

JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Tennis Association (Pelti) will file a complaint with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to protest a nontechnical disruption during the Fed Cup Asia Oceania Zone group one playoff, team manager Martina Wijaya said on Thursday.

Martina said her team blamed the organizer for the disruption when Indonesia played China last Thursday in Osaka, Japan. China won 2-0 and reached the final of the zone.

She said in the second singles match involving Indonesia's Wynne Prakusya and Yi Jingqian, the players were forced to pick up the balls themselves when the ballboys left. She added that the lighting during the match was poor.

She said that ITF should pay attention to such non-technical factors so it would not take place in the future tournament.

Indonesia remains in group one, while Japan was promoted to the World Group for next year.(ivy)
