Pelindo III's profits
JAKARTA (JP): State-owned PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) III last year made a pretax profit of Rp 103.3 billion (US$44.9 million).
Pelindo President Herman Prayitno said the company, which operates 38 ports, a container terminal and a port hospital in the eastern provinces, booked total revenues of Rp 254.5 billion in 1996.
Herman said Pelindo's revenue increased 20.8 percent a year in the 1992/1996 period and its operating costs 12.5 percent. He did not elaborate on Pelindo's 1995 revenue.
Herman predicted his company would see a drop in profits in 1997, the result of an expected increase in new investments. (pwn)
