Pelangi exports LPG tubes

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed packaging producer PT Pelangi Indah Canindo said on Monday it was exporting its first batch of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) containers to Australia under a US$2.1 million contract.

Pelangi said that under the contract with Australian-based Millenium Bridge Pty. Ltd. the company would export 199,000 LPG containers until December this year.

It further estimated that the local market for LPG containers and oil drums was prospective in line with growing demands for gas and oil producers.

Pelangi produces among other things cans, drums and oil filters.

The company said it had expanded its business to include the production of automotive spare parts and also planned to produce household appliances and food packaging products.(bkm)
