Pelangi Air serves Padang

PADANG, West Sumatra (JP): Malaysian air carrier Pelangi Air
plans to increase its flights to Padang, the capital city of West
Sumatra, anticipating an increase in the number of people
traveling between West Sumatra and Malaysia.

Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board director Ahmad Kosnen said
on Saturday Pelangi Air was expected to double its schedule from
the current three times a week.

He said the increase of flights was needed to anticipate the
surge in demand for air transportation, especially from West
Sumatra to Malaysia.

He said more Malaysians were also traveling to Indonesia
through West Sumatra. (28)
