Pekanbaru hotel gets bomb threat

INDONESIA: A mysterious caller threatened to bomb Hotel Ibis in Pekanbaru, Riau, on Saturday, but after the police investigated the threat it proved to be a hoax.

Spokesman of Riau Police Adj. Comr. S. Pandiangan said that an anonymous caller called the hotel at 12.30 p.m. and told the receptionist, Rani, that he would blow up the hotel in three hours time.

The hotel management quickly called the police, who arrived at the scene immediately and combed the hotel, located on Jl. Soekarno-Hatta, Pekanbaru. Nothing was found in the search.

It was the third bomb hoax in Pekanbaru in the past three months. -- JP
