Pejabat, Teladan win openers

JAKARTA (JP): Pejabat and Teladan, both baseball clubs from Jakarta, registered two victories, to lead their respective groups in the 3rd Jakarta Cheetahs Baseball & Softball Cup, now underway in Jakarta.

Pejabat topped Group A with wins over Sriti Surabaya 14-0 on Friday and Gorgeous Bandung 23-4 on Saturday. Cheetahs Jakarta also notched up two wins but was beaten by the leader on points margin.

Cheetahs' wins came at the expense of NISP Bandung, 14-1, and Citra Muda Jakarta, 16-6.

In Group B, Teladan was the sole leader. It beat Bumi Asri Bandung 17-4 in the first game on Friday, before trouncing Partha Yogyakarta 17-4 in the second the following day.

The tournament features 12 clubs divided into two groups and will run until Aug. 25. The softball matches will start on Monday with 10 clubs in two groups. (01)
