PDI Perjuangan reshuffle its leaders

JAKARTA: Roy Janis' days as House's faction chairman are numbered. He will be replaced by Tjahjo Kumolo, the incumbent secretary of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) faction, sources at the party said.

Asked by the press on Wednesday, Tjahjo acknowledged that he had also heard about the imminent replacement but he said: "It is still under discussion, not a decision yet."

Tjahjo will be replaced by Panda Nababan, the faction's deputy chairman. Both Tjahjo and Panda are close aides of Taufik Kiemas, the husband of party chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri.

The sources said that chairman of the PDI Perjuangan faction in the People's Consultative Assembly Arifin Panigoro would also be replaced. - JP
