PDI-P vs PDI-P in Surabaya

SURABAYA: A member of the East Java chapter of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) has reported a party legislative councilor to the police over blackmail.

Chief of the police detective Unit Sup. Anton Charliyan confirmed the report on Tuesday, saying that the report was sent to the police last Saturday

Seven people have been questioned as witnesses over the allegation, he added.

Bonang Adi Andoko, the PDI Perjuangan cadre, alleged that councilor Ismail Saleh Mukadar had extorted money from Tjandra Prayogo, a businessman favored by the East Java High Court in a building dispute.

The court ruled that the building belonged to Tjandra. The execution turned violent last month after a large group of the Nahdlatul Ulama civilian militia Banser clashed with police officers escorting the court officials in the execution. (nur/sur)
