PDI-P opens posts for holiday exodus

JAKARTA: The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) will reactivate its posts around the country to assist the public during the Idul Fitri exodus.

Party deputy secretary general Pramono Anung said on Tuesday that the posts would be open from Nov. 30 through Dec. 5 to support travelers.

"The posts will provide snacks to break the fast and first aid for those who need help along the road," Pramono said after the party's weekly meeting led by its chairwoman, President Megawati Soekarnoputri.

He said the posts were located around Java and Sumatra islands as the main routes of the holiday exodus.--JP
