PDI joins cyberspace
JAKARTA (JP): The government-recognized Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI) yesterday became the last political group to open a web site prior to the start of the election campaign tomorrow.
Chairman Soerjadi said on announcing the PDI web site called "Banteng Yes Online" that the Internet would help the party make the election a success.
The program is available in several languages other than Indonesian, including English. The web site will be operative Sunday.
The web site address is http://www.banteng.pdi.org. People are free to comment or raise questions through the party's E-mail at pdi@banteng.pdi.org.
Golkar and the United Development Party (PPP), the PDI's opponents in the May 29 general election, have already opened their web sites. (amd)
