PDAM chief dismissed over graft

TANGERANG: Tangerang regency is expected to dismiss the president director of the local water company (PDAM) Dadan Hendra Sambas for his alleged involvement in a Rp 10 billion corruption scandal.

Secretary of the regency, Ismet Iskandar, said that Hendra, along with several other officials, would be replaced soon, pending the completion of the company audit by an independent auditor.

He said the regency had learned about the graft from local councillors in the Crescent and Star faction.

Head of the faction, Samsudin, has also called for the prosecutors' office to probe the case. -Antara
