PCPP to hold first congress

PURWOKERTO, Central Java: The newly-established Association of Intellectuals for Pancasila Development (PCPP) plans to hold its first congress in September.

Its founders hope to become a nationally recognized organization.

Rubijanto Misman, who founded the association, said on Sunday that the coordinators of PCPP in 23 provinces have yet to agree on the venue for the congress. "I'm asking that it take place here, where it was first introduced," Rubijanto said.

According to Rubijanto, the congress will establish an executive board at the national level as well as prepare and adopt its statutes.

The 23 provinces in which the associations have established branches include Aceh, West Nusa Tenggara, Irian Jaya and East Timor. (wah/swe)
